TGIF Burghers! Consider the next two locations “hidden gems” of the Pittsburgh cityscape. Once you check them out for yourselves, you will not be able to keep them a secret either!
This is a Thia food lover’s must try (and then revisit weekly). The outdoor seating makes you feel far far away from our beautiful city, in a good way. It is relaxing, and you can’t help but feel like you have escaped to another world, surrounded by amazing, lush plants and outdoor mood lighting. The menu includes noodle dishes like Spicy Duck, Stewed Beef, and two types of Street Noodles. Specialty dishes include Eggplant Basil, Crab Fried Rice, and Spicy Seafood. It is BYOB – although it’s easy enough to get drunk off of good food, good friends, and great service.
VEGAN FRIENDLY and AMAZING! Truly a blessing to the Pittsburgh food scene, this is a secret gem hiding in the brick streets of Shadyside. I highly recommend this spot for all those looking for a vegan friendly bunch, that .. well.. just doesn’t feel so RAW. The menu is split between sweet and savory, offering Vegan & Gluten Free Waffles, Oat & Almond Pancakes, Curry Eggs, and, my favorite, the Breakfast Burrito (TVP scramble is a must for this one). They also offer Tempeh Bacon, fresh pressed juices, and, if you’re lucky, the muffin of the day will be Vegan Gluten Free Double Chocolate Chunk!
