Autumn Beer Festivals 2013

The last couple of weeks I’ve been preparing myself for the Fall and getting excited for the absolute best time of the year in Pittsburgh. One of the many reasons this season is so enjoyable is the beer festivals!

Here is a list of some of the upcoming beer festivals and events around the Burgh. I can’t claim that these are healthy but there are some great benefits of craft beers!

Big Pour at Construction Junction

Saturday, September 7th
Time: Session 1: noon-3pm; Session 2: 5-8pm
Cost: $72 regular admission , $35 designated driver (SOLD OUT)
Includes: complimentary taster glass, brew caddy and coupon for a Uni-Growler
The Big Pour is hands-down the best beer event in Pittsburgh – three hours of craft beer tasting and sampling the best in local restaurants, while enjoying live art & music at the Warehouse of Construction Junction.

Gear and Beer Music Festival at Brady’s Run

Sunday, September 8th
Time: 8am-6pm
Festival includes a 5k run and walk, mountain bike race, road cycling, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, auctions, raffles, live music, food and of course a craft beer tasting.

Proceeds benefit the Ohio River Trail Council.

Zoo Brew at Pittsburgh Zoo

Friday, September 12th
Time: 6-9:30pm
Cost: $60 (SOLD OUT)
Includes: commemorative mug for sampling
Tour the zoo while sipping a wide variety of craft brews.

Penn Brewery Oktoberfest

September 20-22nd & 27th-29th
Time: Fridays & Saturdays 5 PM – Midnight/Sundays 4 – 10 PM
No entry fee.
Features live German music, food and Oktoberfest beer.

Rocktoberfest BrewFest at Nemacolin Resort

Saturday, October 12th
Time: 1-5pm
Includes: unlimited beer tastings, souvenir glass, and tickets to vote for best beer
Enjoy the fun fall festival including zip lines, ropes course, mini golf, and scenic chairlifts while tasting local brews.

Brewing up a Cure at PPG Wintergarden

October 12th
Time: 7pm-10pm
$50 in advance; $60 VIP
Features sampling of homebrewed and commercial beers, food, live music, and an auction.
Proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
